SHED, Installation, 15’ x 30’ x 4’, cast wax antlers, North Dakota Museum of Art 2008, and Schneider Museum of Art, Ashland, OR 2004
SHED developed out an interest in the sublime in America, particularly as
it relates to the perception of Niagara Falls. With that sensibility in mind,
I wanted the experience of being ‘lost’ while making a piece that was large
in scale, overwhelming, and unknowable, until its devising concluded. A single
object, an antler shed, was multiplied until it became a metaphorical landscape
of unfolding potential.
