MACHINATIONS, Kinetic Sculpture, variable dimensions, University of California, San Diego 1984
These kinetic sculptures borrow elements from archaic agricultural machines, but the original function and meaning of those elements are subverted to become agricultural machines with Duchampian inclinations. Their subtle choreography (light and shadow, rotating gears, creaking wood, whirring fans, soft breezes), affects the machinery of desire.
